Is your schedule filled with all the daily events? Is it even fuller now that the kids have gone back to school? I think we can all agree that sometimes it seems there aren’t enough hours in the day. We get the kids up, ready for school, drop them off, and head to work or back home to our adult responsibilities. Before you know it, it’s time to pick up the kids, help with homework, and still try to figure out what’s for dinner. Luckily, I have found the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven that has saved the day, literally. Take some notes because these fast and easy recipes with your Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven will mix up the menu and save you time and money!

I want to start with breakfast because that is usually the most hurriedtime of the day. Even when the kids are up on time, everyone always seems to be rushed. An easy, fast breakfast is in order to get the kids fed and out the door. What better breakfast than Cinnamon Honey Toast with Whole Grain Wheat Bread. Here’s what I used and what I did, you’ll be excited at how easy it is!

Honey CinnamonToast with Whole Grain Wheat Bread

Ingredients:
Sliced whole grain wheat bread
About 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 tablespoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
Honey to drizzle

Steps:
1. In your Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven, place your pieces of bread on the wire rack and toast using the preset “Toast” option, selecting the desired level.
2. After bread is toasted, remove and carefully butter one side, covering entire slice. Pour a generous amount of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg mixture on top, pour the sugar mixture off the toast and drizzle some honey over the top and place back in toaster oven and let the remaining heat caramelize the sugar, about 2 minutes.
3. Slice, serve, and enjoy

**Bonus: Serve with some fruit preserves for an extra treat, or thinly sliced apples (I’ll show you how to cook some in just a bit) **

Now the kids have their tasty breakfast that they can munch quickly and even have to take on the go. Now we can get our adult tasks completed before they get out of school for the day. Well, if you are like me, I grow hungry a few hours after the kids have breakfast, but I just want a small snack. I was in England years ago and they had the best snack in the world and I’m going to let you in on the secret. It’s easy to make and has such bold flavor, you wouldn’t imagine how simple it is to make.

English Cheddar Toast

Ingredients:

2 slices of your favorite bread
2 slices extra sharp cheddar
Worcestershire sauce to drizzle

Steps:

1.) Place the cheese on top of your toast and set your Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven to your desired toast setting.
2.) Half way through the toasting time, remove the cheese topped bread and drizzle some Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle a bit of shredded cheese of your choice.
3.) Return the toast to the oven and finish cooking, leave the toast in a bit after the timer dings. This lets the cheese completely melt and the sauce to seep into the bread and cheese
4.) Slice, serve, and enjoy
**Bonus: I love to dip my cheesy toast in some horseradish sauce, or even bold and plain. **

So, now that I had my snack and was ready for some more action, it’s usually time that the kids are ready to come home. Like we did when we were kids, the first thing they ask for is a snack. Instead of greasy, unhealthy potato chips or cookies, how about something healthy and delicious. I decided to make some candied apple slices with my Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven. These are delicious and really easy to make and you can always try it with pears or mangoes or any fruit you want to try.

Sweet Apple Chips

Ingredients:

1 apple, cored and sliced thin (your choice of apple)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Honey to brush on

Steps:

1.) On a cutting board or plate, lay apple slices in one layer and brush on a thin layer of honey and sprinkle cinnamon
2.) Spread a layer of apples on the baking tray and bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10-12 minutes, or until tenderness level is at your (or the kid’s) preference.
**Bonus: Serve up with some Swiss cheese, it’s a tasty combination**
