Strawberry season is one of my favourite times of the year. You can never have too many ways to enjoy these luscious berries. Strawberry cheesecake popsicles are in my freezer right now. The grandkids will be enjoying some delicious summer treats.

Making This Strawberry Basil co*cktail

This summer-inspired strawberry basil adult beverage will be the hit of your next bbq party. All you need is a blender and you will be mixing up drinks in no time.

Suggestions/Recipe Tips

Fresh berries are best for this tequila co*cktail recipe. You could also try it with fresh raspberries.

Agave nectar is the perfect sweetener, but feel free to use simple syrup.

Basil and strawberries are a winning combination. However, mint is also a great alternative.

  • 4 ounces strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1 basil leaf (fresh)
  • 2 ounces Tequila
  • 6 ounces carbonated water
  • Handful of ice

Instructions

  • Wash the berries.

  • In a blender combine the strawberries, lime juice, basil and agave nectar.Blend until smooth.

  • Pour into a serving glass.

  • Add the tequila, water and ice.

  • Stir to combine, and garnish with a fresh strawberry.
