Kivotos is a federal megalopolis comprising thousands of schools and is led by the General Student Council (GSC), which acts as its governing body. Ironically, despite being an academy city, Kivotos is rife with gun violence, and all students wield firearms as part of their everyday lives. As if the crisis in Kivotos was not enough, the GSC president is nowhere to be found. Fortunately, before her sudden disappearance, the GSC president enlisted the help of Sensei—a teacher who is most likely the only one in Kivotos—to support students in their time of need. Sensei's first course of action is to assist Abydos High School, a once prestigious academy now with merely five students in attendance. you can't just use volume F content to make me cry. this is not going to wo -fuck Yeah that wasn't great, and if I didn't love the game's story so much I would have dropped this pretty early. This is just a very safe and sterile adaptation that fails to elevate the material in any meaningful way (except for just adding scenes from parts that weren't in the game when Vol. 1 was released) and the show as a whole just looks terrible apart from the amazing OP and ED - the animation itself does have some highs but the composite is so atrociously bad that it's difficult to look past it, not to mention later episodes just start to show the production cracking at the seams. There's some choices that are weird too, like removing the credit card scene (which is going to bite them in the ass hard if they make it to Vol.3 or god forbid Vol. F) and just clearly not knowing what to make of Sensei - they don't actively ever do much in the game so he just kind of. stands there the whole show. I do hope they get better staff (or scheduling, or w/e went wrong here) if they go on to animate the rest. Uma Musume showed gacha anime doesn't have to mindless garbage ! (I am ignoring the small miracle of staffing that is cygames pictures) Also because if Momoi isn't the most overanimated gremlin to ever grace a screen a vol.2 anime is dead on arrival to me

Cold open with them prepping, get a flash back scene of Hoshino and Nonomi finding Shiroko. (into an immediate ad) Trinity mobs just staring at Hifumi blabber on while they hold rifles and mortar shells. PS68 really took out the Kaiser PMC Director's Goliath... on accident... by running out of fuel for their helicopter... Hoshino just having a sad monologue to herself while everyone is blasting their way to save her. Weird transition for the monologue to finish, the explosion happening, Hoshino tipping over and then suddenly back to PS68. Edgy past Hoshino with a deep voice is nice to listen to. I was wondering how tf they caught Hoshino from falling in the bottomless pit... but Ayane's drone coming in clutch. Cute ending with everyone reuniting. Interesting... They showed the 2nd PV immediately right after the credits, hinting at season 2? Overall, anime wasn't the best, but it was above average. Feels like it's hard to really adapt the game into an anime then have people compare it one-to-one. If they do plan to do a 2nd season, I am curious to see how they improve on the animation and story telling overall.
